Diva has practiced in the area of first-party property litigation for the majority of her legal career, with a primary focus on defending insurance carriers in residential property damage claims. Her work involves all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit investigations to trial preparation. She routinely handles cases involving allegations of windstorm, hail, water, and hurricane damage, with an emphasis on claims stemming from Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Ian, and more recently Hurricanes Helene and Milton. She has extensive experience evaluating coverage issues, analyzing engineering and roofing reports, and identifying signs of wear and tear, pre-existing conditions, and non-covered causes of loss.

Throughout her practice, she has taken and defended numerous depositions, including those of policyholders, public adjusters, contractors, and expert witnesses. She is skilled at uncovering delayed reporting, inconsistencies in the claimed scope of damage, and issues related to assignments of benefits. She also drafts and argues dispositive motions, including summary judgment and motions to strike experts, with a consistent focus on achieving favorable results for her clients through both strategic litigation and early resolution where appropriate.

Outside of work, Diva enjoys staying active through Pilates, which helps her unwind and stay centered during busy weeks. Traveling is one of her favorite ways to recharge—she especially loves spending time in New York, London, and anywhere in Italy, where she can soak in the culture, food, and history. She is also an avid reader and always has a book (or three) on her nightstand. Her favorite series include A Court of Thorns and Roses and Fourth Wing—she loves getting lost in richly built fantasy worlds with strong, complex characters.

When she’s home, Diva likes to dabble in cooking and try out new recipes, especially those inspired by dishes she’s tasted while traveling. Whether it’s curling up with a good book or experimenting in the kitchen, she is always looking for ways to enjoy life’s little joys in between the busy pace of litigation.
