Carrington served in the U.S. Navy as a ground support mechanic before working for the federal government with the IRS and the U.S. Department of Labor. As a lawyer, Carrington has worked as a consultant and trainer on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as disability issues. Carrington’s legal experience spans family law, probate, complex estate planning, guardianship, non-profit and business law. A recognized expert in LGBTQ+ law, Carrington has practiced in state, federal, and appellate courts. For the past eight years, Carrington has focused on First-Party Property as a defense attorney and has been practicing law for over 20 years.

Carrington coaches baseball with the Miracle League, an organization dedicated to individuals with special needs, and serves as a wildlife rehabber with the Wildlife Rescue Coalition of Northeast Florida—specializing in Gopher Tortoises and other native turtle species of Florida. Carrington is also an active member of several veterans’ groups.

In his free time, Carrington enjoys participating in a local pond fishing group and spending time boating, camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting for shark teeth and fossils. He volunteers with Florida biologists on survey and restoration projects and leads educational hikes at state and county parks focused on Florida’s natural environment. He also enjoys woodworking and is often found working on his latest project.

Carrington lives with his family, along with their dogs, cats, turtles, and an ever-changing collection of wildlife that may include one or two Gopher Tortoises, other native turtles, squirrels, or the occasional litter of baby opossums in need of rehabilitation.
